The Psychedelic Birthday Party spooks the season with dark pop track ‘Leave The Room’.

Alt-pop songwriter Kevyn van der Linden (The Psychedelic Birthday Party), is back with the hypnotizing track ‘Leave The Room’, painting the perfect scenery for the autumn days.

For fans of: Blue Foundation, Apparat.

Working with producer and multi-instrumentalist Jeroen Verstappen since his first release ‘Bad Blood’ in 2019, the two creatives are further more accompanied on ‘Leave The Room’ by Vera Aben, Niels Veron and Kane van der Linden.

The collective delivers a ghostly sound driven by warm piano, ambient and primal drums, surrounding Kevyn and Vera’s soothing vocals and introspective lyrics.

‘Leave The Room’ feels like a spell that lures you in and haunts your secret chambers in mysterious fashion.

Kevyn: “I wrote this song as a reflection on how poisonous trains of thought can be damaging to ourselves and our surroundings.

At first, the style of the song leaned more towards acoustic folk. But after a few additions by the crew and creative producing, the song slowly started to grow into an experimental dark pop track. A cinematic sound that would fit well under footage of Netflix series ‘Stranger Things’ and ‘Dark’.

I’m happy to finally release this one as it has been sitting in the dark for some time. Time for it to get out there and spook the season.”

Leave The Room is now available on all streaming platforms.
