Everyday People is the third single from the Time EP by Reverend Genes.
Everyday People is about civil societies, and was inspired by the rise of global authoritarianism. Is this rise just a symptom of economic inequality, exploited by opportunists? Or are we destined to cycle between freedom and repression?
What does the return of authoritarian ideology say about humanity’s ability to understand history? How will democracy and authoritarianism evolve when faced with the added pressure of a warming planet and diminishing resources?
Compared to traditional print and broadcast media, what role will social media play in moderating and facilitating the spread of information, and misinformation?
Can leaders alone build happy, civil societies while preserving biodiversity and addressing climate? Or are we all responsible for our common future?
Ultimately, our home planet does not care whether we defer to authority, refuse to change, or retreat to traditional conservatism.
Can we all live sustainably on a finite planet with finite resources?
