Now that summer is hopefully finally coming to our native Belgium, Bit By Barracuda is trying to heat up the weather with ‘Driving Old Cars’. Songwriter and singer Bart Leys takes us for a ride in his vintage Alfa Romeo convertible along slow coastal roads.
Things can be a little sexier for this fourth release. During a holiday, a lover dares to express her desires and although reality does not quite match her fantasies, the passion eventually ignites in an instrumental outro. With a nod to the vocals of Serge Gainsbourg, this song experiments with parlando, making it sound a bit different than previous songs. And that actually characterizes the band, because a Bit By Barracuda live show is a set with a lot of variation in styles… but it’s always rock ‘n’ roll, darlings.
