Amsterdam rock band The Sunrise Paradise released their second EP ‘My Kind of Rainbow’ into the world on November 24, after a sold-out release show that brought ‘Patronaat’ into ecstasy.
In collaboration with the famous producer Bjørgen van Essen, the boys have worked intensively on shaping a new and recognizable sound. They have successfully transformed the ripping guitars, both analog and digital drums and lush synthesizer sounds into modern pop songs with addictive hooks and seductive grooves. Where The Sunrise Paradise previously reminded of a careful mix of Oasis and John Mayer, they now march along the red carpet side by side with The Killers and The 1975.
The Sunrise Paradise lacks the characteristic guitar solos and bass lines that made them pop up as teenagers at festivals and pop venues in today’s charts. “Our goal is to send that powerful energy back through the radio speakers and let it resound across the fields,” said Robin Smit, the lead singer of The Sunrise Paradise.
‘My Kind of Rainbow’ is a multicolored explosion of diverse sounds and emotions. The second single, ‘The Only One’, received immediate attention by being shared under a social media post from world-famous football channel 433, reaching over 3 million listens in just one weekend. Some songs radiate zest and joy with a touch of darkness. What all these songs have in common is a contemporary yet
nostalgic sound. Thematically, the EP highlights a range of complex twenty-something emotions. On closer inspection you taste a rich flavor of toxic relationships, nostalgia, loneliness and overconfidence.
On November 3rd, The Sunrise Paradise treated its fans to a preview of the EP with the single and video clip of ‘Golden’. For Golden’s video clip, The Sunrise Paradise steps into the world of AI. They are one of the first bands to release a video clip entirely generated by AI. But the fact that it will happen automatically turned out to be nothing further from the truth.
With ‘My Kind of Rainbow’, The Sunrise Paradise proves that they are ready to conquer the world withtheir musical evolution and diverse soundscapes.
