Amsterdam-based indie-folk band ALOYSE has released their debut single “invisible” which they are celebrating in the EKKO, in Utrecht on October 19th. The three-piece band is influenced by indie and grunge from the 90’s alongside artists like Soccer Mommy, Clairo and Beabadobee. Having played in the finals of the Amsterdamse Popprijs 2022 and venues like Melkweg and Paradiso they are now touring through the Netherlands with Popronde to promote the release of their debut single.
The song demonstrates Bernice’s development as a songwriter and a person and delivers an up-tempo live performance alongside a diverse arrangement of vocal harmonies. “invisible” reflects on growing up in a tiny village with big dreams while craving social acceptance and context. The song was written after Bernice moved to a new city at the start of her teenage years. She reflects on the big changes that come with moving through diverse social contexts while growing up and becoming a young adult. “invisible” was recorded and produced by Jurriaan Sielcken, who also produced tracks of ALOYSE’ inspirations Pitou and Loupe.
The show in EKKO on the 19th of October starts at 21:30 and is free to enter.
