Under My Skin

Under My Skin is a song sung by Hella about love, longing, regret and moving towards and away from each other. It actually could be a love song for any type of relation.

The song starts bare, with sparse guitars only, and as the song moves along it becomes warm and full with cellos, violins, deep basses and beats. All instruments shine through and blend beautifully with Hella’s warm, full and heartfelt voice.

Although it took some months to complete it was a very enjoyable track to record.

I met Hella about two years ago, and in the process of knowing her we decided to start working on this song.

Hella is a pure, warm hearted and “what you see is what you get” woman and the song is about the troublesome relation she has with a person she still loves.

Lyrics:

You’re under my skin
Deep in my heart
Where blood
Flows your blood

No one can stop this
Not even you
If you only, only
Only knew

Your words they hurt
Time and time again
But in my heart
I will find you again

I can’t escape
Even in my dreams
Hear your voice
And I see your face

You’re forever to stay
Deep in my heart
Where blood
Flows your blood

If it’s not what you wanted
Or had in mind
If I only only
Only knew

Your heart seems closed
Broken on the way
Longing for love
I see and feel your pain

I can’t escape
Even in my dreams
Hear your voice
And I see your face

You’re under my skin
Deep in my heart
Where blood
Flows your blood

No one can stop this
Not even you
If you only, only
Only knew

If you only only
Only knew

If you only only
Only knew
