On February 25 Silent Runners (Amsterdam, NL) will release Nothing Stays the Same. It’s the first single from their upcoming album, which was announced earlier this year with the teaser track My Truth. The new single will be accompanied by a music video that will premiere on Post-Punk.com the same day. The full album is set to be released in spring 2022 on Cold Transmission Music.
Nothing Stays The Same is about the people who are lost in modern society. People who are experiencing life getting harder by the day, while nobody can really explain to them why. In that sense the song speaks to a lost feeling of belonging in an increasingly individualized world. While the message of the song is clearly one of grief and loss, the music embraces you in a nostalgic scenery, in which elements of hope and euphoria remain.

SILENT RUNNERS BIOGRAPHY
Mixing dark synths with post-punk influences, Silent Runners (Amsterdam, NL) made a name for themselves on stage with energetic shows that are both compelling and strangely hypnotizing. Minimalist guitars, deep bass riffs and steady drum beats, going from an almost krautrock-like drive to all out bombastic. All topped with classic synths and a powerful voice, soaked in reverb.
In 2017 Silent Runners released their critically acclaimed debut album The Directory, which reached underground audiences all around the globe. The release was followed by a series of very well received shows on festivals such as Wave Gotik treffen, Grey Days and Wavefest. Shows that cemented the band’s energetic live reputation in the underground post punk scene.
After their 2019 re-release of The Directory (Remixes) on Cold Transmission Music, the band announced the production of a new yet to be named album, set to release on the Germany based label in spring 2022. The first official single Nothing Stays The Same will see daylight on February 25, together with a brand new music video. The new track showcases a shift in direction for Silent Runners, foreshadowing more drum driven songs and a heavier emphasis on post-punk influences, without compromising the iconic mix of synths, drums and guitars the band is known for.
