Artpop artist LIJO releases FUTURE MEMORY, due out on October 22 through Revanche Records. Having worked on new material for over two years, synthpop song FUTURE MEMORY marks the start of a new chapter of releases by LIJO.
FUTURE MEMORY shines a cynical light on the effects of vanity, selfishness and the unstoppable hunger for growth – but based on such an energetic groove that despite the urgency of the message, we are most likely going to dance to its beat.
The song will not stand by itself: fascinated by the endless weirdness of human behaviour and mirroring this in music, LIJO is far from done and will share more of her work over the course of the following months.
In LIJO’s eyes, everything seems like a show: on a small scale, we all are the main characters of our own little stages, and on a bigger one we act like we are the main character in this world. LIJO addresses this and its consequences, but then decorates it with a sense of lightheartedness and danceability, innovative melodies and feverish sounds. Because as she puts it, all we can and should do is add beauty to a world that needs it.
