In Basil Babychan’s latest single, he embraces this concept, reflecting on our brief and ever-changing existence here on earth. After the success of his EP in 2020, ‘Transient’ is the latest release from this Indo-Dutch Neo-Classical artist, to be released on the 30th July 2021. Combining cinematic soundscapes with electronic fusions, ‘Transient’ is both a compelling and soothing composition.
Giving his listeners a place to escape to, Basil communicates inspiring messages through his music. Taking inspiration from classical masters Mozart and Brahms to the powerful storytelling of Johnny Cash and Kenny Rogers, Basil uses these influences to deliver thought-provoking and motivational messages to his listeners. Brooding piano melodies welcome the song, fragmented by abstract sounds and elements that flourish throughout. Basil Babychan’s musical background is somewhat unconventional. As a corporate manager, his passion for music seems like an unlikely scenario, but his journey couldn’t be more aligned. Despite the sorrows of 2020, Basil was able to release his debut EP ‘Accidently Incorporated’ gaining presence in the Neo-Classical world. Impacted by film composers like Hans Zimmer, James Horner and A.R Rahman, Basil takes inspiration from their ability to intertwine music and visuals to capture emotive stories through sound. Collaborating with other artists across the globe has led to ‘Melodic Musings’, a monthly video series that sees Basil and his collaborators re-imagine his original compositions. Basil also uses social media to deliver ‘Melodic Messages’, a series that encourages deep thinking and contemplation. Basil Babychan’s purpose, therefore, is to develop and nurture the gift he has been given. In doing so, his music touches his listeners, reaching the inner workings of the Soul.
